Katrina

KatrinaI had my first seizure on September 12th, 2007 at the age 15. I woke up just like any other normal day and I took a shower and next thing i know I’m at my school at marching band practice. Then I realize I’m walking around my school hallways several times looking for my math class but I couldn't find it. Then all of the sudden I’m waking up at a hospital. A few hours later a neurologist comes in after looking at my tests and tells me and my mom I have epilepsy.

Now it’s almost three years later and I have never had my license ever and I'm still trying to control my epilepsy. I take Lamictal and Keppra each day religiously. I get the right amount of sleep. Every few months I have a grand mal seizure, they keep on getting worse. Hopefully the doctors someday will figure out the right medication for me. For right now it’s been almost three months since my last seizure so I’m hoping I’m on the right treatment this time.

Anyone who is reading this I’m going to start forming and Epilepsy support group on www.myspace.com/epilepsysupportallages
