Anastasya

Anastasya

Born on a snowy day on April 17, 1996, Anastasya came into this world after my wife Hillary and I went through a thirty-six hour ordeal of back labor. Ok, so Hillary did 99% of the work and I was there merely to supply support. After thirty hours of attempting to try natural child birth complete with a Douala, Hillary decided to follow the suggestion of the nurse and have an epidural.

This beautiful girl began having seizures at 3 1/2 and from that moment on I devoted much of my research into getting her healthy. The doctors gave us little hope, so they prepared us for a life filled with seizures. Through it all, Tasya never gave up hope of getting better.

Eight years later, thousands of seizures later, she is leading a normal life with the ups and downs of childhood with a rare seizure here and there but all the doctors view her as somewhat of a miracle. Despite all of the nay sayers, we feel like she has turned the corner and will make her epilepsy a thing of the past and not what defines her.
